The Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program empowers the communities most impacted by pollution to choose their own goals, strategies, and projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and local air pollution. Funded with California Climate Investment (CCI) dollars, TCC works to prioritize development and infrastructure projects that achieve major environmental, health, and economic benefits in California’s most disadvantaged communities.

In 2018, the City of Stockton was awarded a Planning Grant in the amount of $170,000 by the Strategic Growth Council (SGC) to support planning activities in the Downtown and South Stockton region. Local partners within the project area will co-create a neighborhood-level blueprint for sustainable development (Sustainable Neighborhood Plan), update the city's existing tree inventory, and facilitate a community leadership program that will train residents in the area on climate-related topics.
